A lot of housewives (usually people who make Homemade dishwasher detergents are housewives and those who are working from Home) have been debating that Borax is not safe for us (humans) and it has been spreading throughout the internet on what to really choose to create a new dishwashers detergent formula.

I have found this online (at http://www.ecokaren.com/2012/05/homemade-dishwasher-detergent-without-borax-recipe) and thought to follow this recipe too. I have never done like this without borax before and yes I tried this one and it works for me.

  • Ingredients:

1 Tbsp of Washing Soda

1 Tbsp Kosher Salt (or Sea Salt)

borax replacement or she calls it a secret ingredient –> 1/2 TSP Plant Based dishwashing liquid soap

White vinegar will be placed in another closed compartment

1 Tbsp Undiluted Citrus Enzyme (Optional) – this is just really to make your dishes smell fresh

Or Juice from half of a lemon (optional)

How to use it in our dishwasher?

Follow these tips: Make sure your load the dishes well so that the water can splash them without any hindrances for your bowls, dishes, utensils, glasses and etc.

of course, you have to clean or wipe away first the dirt or leftovers on the plates and etc.. before putting them on your dishwashers.

Make sure all the plates, utensils, forks, spoons and etc. .. are loosely placed in the dishwasher and not so tight so that the detergents will wash them all correctly.

I hope this can also be of big help to you then. I have always tried to look forward also to creating another recipe or if I found online a good recipe too, then I can always share it here.
