Affordable Bosch Built in Dishwashers

Bosch is a great company, and we all know that. Almost every appliance we have at home is currently a Bosch. In fact, we purchased our washing machine, air conditioner and cooktop from the company about a decade ago and everything is running just fine.

Of course, we do regular maintenance checks, but this just lets you know that appliances from Bosch do last for a very long time. Since we already had a dishwasher at the time, we didn’t buy a new one but presently, it seems to be ready to go to dishwasher heaven.

We’ve decided to purchase a new Bosch model and we read quite a few Bosch dishwashers reviews before we actually made a purchase. Not all of the reviews were helpful though and we thought, ‘why not distill all of our knowledge about Bosch to help you out.’ So here is what we know about the company and why you should consider Bosch dishwashers.

The Bosch Brand

Bosch was first set up in Germany to distill German technical excellence. The founder, Robert Bosch, recognized the need for in house appliances which would be affordable and useful to German nationals. The company was set in 1886 and by the year 1912, the company had already opened its first plant in Springfield, Massachusetts, good ole USA.

After that, there was no looking back. The next decade meant rapid expansion for Bosch and more than five different engineering companies were set up to deal with the demand. By the year 1933, the company was producing refrigerators to chill food, quickly followed by food processors and other appliances. Other companies realized that Bosch was here to stay and this quickly led to serious competition.

By the year 1956, the first Bosch freezer was on the market along with the first Bosch washing machine which was a godsend for harried housewives. However, dishwashers first came out in 1964 and they quickly became a standard in all kitchens.

Now, Bosch is well known for its technical excellence in manufacturing and high quality mechanics. Each and every model or appliance is covered with a 5-10 year warranty but they rarely require any serious work.

In the year 2008, the company was awarded the Excellence Energy Star Promotion Award for their energy saving appliances and best rated dishwashers. Last year, Bosch dishwashers were ranked #1 in the entire world due to the energy saving, dishwashing and sanitization features, quite a commendable feat.

So, how’s their dishwashers?

Each and every dishwasher is energy compliant and that means the machines saves energy and water and starts paying for itself in about a year. The company uses innovative new technology in its models such as

  • Zeolite drying which ensures that dishes comes out absolutely dry and fragrant. Bosch was the first to note that the natural but stable mineral zeolite could be used in dishwashers to clean out the dishes. The element is neutral and regenerates in time for every wash cycle resulting in cleaner and fragrant dishes.
  • Variospeed features have been built into every model to save on energy consumption. That means dishes get cleaned but the time for the cleaning process depends on the weight of the dishes in the dishwasher.  A light load will take less time to clean than one filled with dirty pots and pans.
  • A special intensive clean zone is built in which ensures that greasy and dirty utensils get cleaned faster. A power wash feature along with rinse clean and increased temperature cycle means better cleaning.

Almost every Bosch model has these unique features, but we particularly liked these models. Drumroll…

Bosch SHE55R55UC Dishwasher

This is a really good investment at about $810 with free shipping. The machine has all of the features mentioned above but it also has an additional sanitize feature which runs only at the end. All of the racks are adjustable with 14-rack settings and 4-wash cycles.

It’s a little small at about 22.6 x 23.6 x 35.1 inches but it can fit under any sink or basin in a conventional kitchen. This machine is fitted with a separate garbage disposal which filters the food debris and discards it to prevent contaminating the wash cycle.

Bosch 500 Series SHX55R55UC Fully Integrated Dishwasher, Super Quiet, 14-Place Settings, Stainless

This is a slightly more expensive model priced at about $865. Apart from common features, the machine also has a super silent wash cycle, a 19-hour delay wash, adjustable racks and a time display to show when the dishes are going to be dry.

This machine is the best in its class for energy savings as it saves more than 280 gallons of water and runs on 259 kwh/yr. The machine also has an Eco-sense feature by which energy usage is reduced in case of smaller loads or less-dirty dishes.

Bosch SHE68R55UC 24 Built-In Dishwasher with Super Capacity of 14 Place Settings, AquaStop

We loved this model even though the price was a little steep at about $989 with free shipping. If you can afford it, then this is the model for you as it has everything for everyone; a sanitize option, a fine China cycle, adjustable racks and energy savings.

Frankly, there is nothing left to say. Bosch models are the best in the world and you should use these Bosch dishwashers reviews to find yourself the best model.
