What if your dishwasher is too noisy?

Check the wash arm seal and the bearing ring. Replace both if they have worn out.

Check the spray arms, see if they are turning freely or whether they are hitting the dishes or the racks. If you think they are wobbly, it’s possible that the central portion or the hub has been worn. Get the spray arm replaced.

What if your dishwasher is leaking?

Why is the dishwasher leaking? Could it be because of the worn out pump and door seals? Or a failed water inlet valve? Do check, and if needed, get them replaced.

The dishwasher pump would have a rubber gasket which has it sealed to the bottom of the tub, which can get worn out over years of use, and may cause leaking. If so, get the rubber gasket replaced.

Is the leaking occurring at the front of the dishwasher? Then you have an issue with the door gasket. Do check whether the alignment of the door with the tub opening has been disturbed, if there is a difference in the gap between either side, then perhaps the door gasket has become worn out and that’s why the door isn’t fitting correctly, and hence the leak. Please get the door gasket replaced. And readjust the latch as well, so that the door fits well.

There may be a crack or a tear in the rubber hose that connects to the side of the tub, which could be the cause of the leak. Check for this, as well as for cracks in the plastic body of the valve connecting the hose to the tub. Replace either or both, if you notice a defect.

What if your dishwasher does not start?

If the dishwasher does not start, perhaps there is an issue with the door latch or the door latch switches. Inspect if the door isn’t closing properly, there could be an issue with the door latch switches. And if the switches have a problem, the controls won’t receive power, so the dishwasher won’t start. If this is the case, the entire electronic latch assembly should be replaced or repaired by an electrician.

There could be issues with the timer and with the electronic control, which may result in the small motor not functioning well. That’s why the dishwasher may not start.

Another issue could be with the selector switch, perhaps the selector buttons are defective and are not getting fully pressed, leading to the controls not getting activated.

What if your dishwasher has a door latch failure?

If the door latch isn’t working correctly, check the door catch first. The door catch is adjustable and can be found attached to the top of the dishwater tub. If it has been worn out because of excessive use, then you will need to replace it.

The door switch controls could be affected. Have them tested using a multimeter.

What if your dishwasher is not cleaning dishes properly?

This could be because of the malfunctioning of the lower spray arms due to a worn out upper discharge housing gasket. Or it could have simply come loose, which makes your problem easy to solve, so just have it tightened.

The spray arms could be obstructed by the dishes because of the spray arm bearing ring getting loose or worn out, making the spray arm wobbly. Check if there is a crack of some sort, and if so, have the spray arms replaced.

Also check the docking station of the spray arms along with the flappers. The docking station provides water to the spray arms, it has two outlets, check if either outlet has been blocked.

What if your dishwasher is not draining?

This could be a result of a malfunction of the check valve present in the drain sump. Check the piston and the nut assembly of the check valve, which is located at the bottom of the tub, just under the sump cover. Unscrew it, have it cleaned and have it re-fixed.

Is the input or the output of the pump getting obstructed? Check if the power is getting through to the pump motor during the draining part of the cycle. If there is a problem here, get both the pump and the motor assembly changed.

Check the dishwasher belt for any wear and tear. Replace if needed.

Check the flapper valve, it should be perfectly open during the draining part of the cycle. If not, get it replaced.

What is your dishwasher will not fill with water?

There could be a problem with the water inlet valve. It may be malfunctioning because of a fault in the timer controlling it. Have the electronic control, including the timer checked by an electrician.

What if your dishwasher will not dispense detergent?

Perhaps there is a problem with the detergent dispenser, which releases the detergent into the dishwasher tub. Just have the dispenser cleaned thoroughly, that should take care of the problem.

Also check for the rinse cap, which is present at the inner door panel of the dishwasher, if it is loose. Just refit it and the problem is solved.

What is your dishwasher is not drying dishes properly?

Is there is a problem with the dishwasher’s power switch? Use a multi-meter to find out.

The dishwasher is fitted with a thermostat which works as an excellent safety device and prevents the machine from overheating. Check if it has been shut down or not working properly – that could be the reason the heat is being shut off even before the dishes are dried.
